LACOFD Litter Basket Hoist Rescue | AZUSA, CA 2.17.21

AZUSA, CALIFORNIA – California Highway Patrol Baldwin Park station and Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a vehicle over the side at Angela’s Forest at Highway 39, mile marker 29 near San Gabriel Dam. CHP officers were the first on scene and located one victim that was able to make his or her way up the hill and a second victim possibly trapped inside the vehicle about 100 feet down the hill. The Los Angeles County Fire Department was able to get the second victim out of the vehicle and hoist into a Los Angeles county chopper, transporting to Pomona Valley Hospital in unknown condition. The first victim was transported by ambulance to Pomona Valley Hospital in an unknown condition. Unknown at the time how the car drove off the hill. California Highway Patrol is handling the investigation into the traffic collision.
