Early Friday a female driver was traveling eastbound on Olympic Blvd when she lost control of the vehicle and struck a “Koreatown” decorative signage boulder in the center median. The boulder and chunks of concrete flew into westbound lanes. The car became disabled. When LAPD arrived they suspected DUI, and took the driver into custody. The driver was then handed over to LAFD to be transported to a hospital for injuries she sustained in the crash. The boulder remains in lanes as well as the chunks of cement that were thrown into the roadway from the crash. At least one lane of westbound Olympic will remain closed until equipment can be brought in to remove the debris.
