On Friday evening, July 12, 2019, the California Highway Patrol along with Cal Fire / Riverside County Fire responded to multiple reports of a FedEx semi vs several vehicles on the 60 Freeway. The collision was reported on the westbound 60 Freeway just east of Pedley Road shortly before 8:00pm. Responding emergency crews located a FedEx semi which had jack knifed across the the # 3,4 and 5 lanes. Crews also located a sedan in the center divider and a sedan on the right shoulder, both with major damage. A mini van and a third sedan appeared to have minor damage. Due to a 150 gallon diesel fuel spill, a Sig-Alert was issued and for the 3,4 and 5 lanes of westbound 60 at Pyrite for at least two hours. It was not immediately clear the extent of any injuries and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
