On Monday May 10, 2021 at 8:08pm Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, MEDIC & Charlotte Fire Department responded a tree that fell on top of a truck. When Charlotte Firefighters arrived they confirmed a tree fell on a GMC truck trapping the driver inside. Firefighters and paramedics also found the driver had been impaled in the chest by parts of the tree. The driver was freed by firefighters within 10 minutes. MEDIC transported the victim with life threatening injuries to Atrium Carolinas Medical Center. The front windshield had damage and holes were the branch entered the vehicle prior to impaling the driver.
