SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA – LASD was following a stolen vehicle / robbery suspect out of Antelope Valley when Santa Clarita Sheriff’s spotted it. The vehicle exited SB 14 at Placerita Cyn Road where a short standoff unfolded. Deputies placed spike strips at the bottom of the exit. After attempting to get the suspect to surrender, less lethal was fired to break the winds when the suspect sped up hitting the spike strips before crashing into the center median and curb. After a little longer the suspect gave up and was checked by LA County Fire Dept for chest pains. AV Sheriff is handling the investigation.
