IDYLLWILD: Overnight Cranston Fire

Overnight Wednesday July 25, 2018 the Cranston Fire grew to roughly 4,700 acres. The fire started Wednesday afternoon July 25th after a suspected arsonist started the fast moving wildfire along highway 74 east of Hemet. According to Authorities around 12:00pm a 32 year old man from Temecula may have intentionally started the fire. Brandon McGlover was arrested on suspicion of arson after witnesses saw him set multiple fires, one of which, dubbed The Cranston Fire, burned thousands of acres in the San Bernardino National Forest. The blaze also destroyed several homes and forced evacuations. As of 6:00pm the Cranston Fire was estimated at 3,000 acres and had destroyed at least five structures. One heat related injury was reported around mid afternoon.
