PERRIS, CALIFORNIA – On June 3, 2021 at approximately 11:00 am Riverside County Sheriff’s Civil Enforcement Unit (Murrieta Court Division) along with Riverside County Animal Control, responded to the 26000 of Orange Ave in the city of Perris in regards to service of an eviction notice to the lessee of a farm style property which housed several hundred animals some of those animals being rare.
Sheriffs deputies and animal control made access to the property through a locked chain link fence with the assistance of a locksmith.
For the past three years there have been many complaints from local residents about the animals running free in the streets and the animals being malnourished which is also a safety concern to the residents.
There were 70 llamas, 8 water buffalo, 70 ostrich, 70 emus, hundreds of embedded geese, rare ayam cemani chickens, rare blue foot chickens, eastern wild turkey. There were also some endangered species of goose known as the Nene.
All the animals will remain on property for 15 days, if the lessee does not claim the animals, the animals will go to different homes.
The property was given back to the rightful owner.
