WHITTIER CA – Two horses somehow escaped their corral near the riverbed off the 605 Freeway in Whittier. When firefighters responded the horses were nowhere to be found. After 20 minutes of searching for the pair, they were spotted just east of the 605 Freeway at the corner of Pioneer and Washington. A local horse owner and staff of Pioneer High School rounded up the two horses and was able to hitch them to a no parking sign. They fed them carrots and hydrated them with a bucket of water. When the game of hide and seek concluded, the horses tapped out and were brought back to safety.
