HOME GARDENS: Fatal Vehicle Vs Palm Tree

Late Friday night, August 23, 2019, the California Highway Patrol, Cal Fire / Riverside County Fire along with the City of Corona Fire Department and AMR responded to reports of a vehicle into a palm tree with three people trapped inside. The crash was reported around 11:00pm in the 12700 block of Magnolia Avenue, west of Lincoln Street. The first arriving engine company reported a dark colored sedan into a large palm tree with major damage. The three occupants inside the vehicle had to be extricated. Two were transported with moderate injures to and area hospital and the third was transported to an area hospital in critical condition and later succumbed to their injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation as the California Highway Patrol works to determine if speed and or alcohol were factors in the fatal crash.
