The discovery of a suspected illegal drug lab in Hesperia resulted in a large Hazmat incident Wednesday morning. SBCo Fire was called to a home at 17542 Mauna Loa Street shortly before 11:00 AM to stage for the hazmat incident while law enforcement entered the location. Upon entry, deputies found large amounts of hazardous and flammable material as well as a variety of production equipment. A hazmat team was called to conduct the investigation and remove the materials. Unconfirmed reports indicated that the home housed a meth lab. The home had children’s toys scattered around the backyard. It is unknown if there were children at the location or if they were there as decoys from detection.
