FONTANA On Monday June 18th, shortly before 1:30am, CHP, along with San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a Semi on the 10 freeway westbound, just east of Cherry. Upon arrival, first responders found a semi with two tractor trailers, that had left the roadway, and collided with a large oak tree on the right hand shoulder. The driver of the semi was extricated, and suffered minor injuries. However, a passenger in the sleeper cab of the semi was found deceased within the semi. The semi is make with poison placards, and is believed to have a hazardous material load. A hazmat response was initiated. The cause of the collision is under investigation.
