FONTANA: Chlorine Gas Leak At Aluminum Casting Plant

On Friday night, October 25, 2019, the San Bernardino County Fire Department along with the Ontario Fire and Rancho Cucomonga Fire Department’s responded to reports of a Hazmat situation at an aluminum casting plant. The hazmat incident was reported shortly before 8:00pm at TST Inc. in the 11600 block of S. Etiwanda Avenue. The casting plant has been evacuated and one person was transported for unknown reasons. A second person was treated for difficulty breathing. According to an employee, Hazmat teams were not allowing employees back into the plant after a tank holding chlorine gas leaked. It’s unclear what caused the leak or how much chlorine gas leaked out of the tank.¬†As of 11:00pm the leak was mitigated and employees were allowed to return back to work.
