On Friday night, October 25, 2019, the San Bernardino County Fire Department along with the Ontario Fire and Rancho Cucomonga Fire Department’s responded to reports of a Hazmat situation at an aluminum casting plant. The hazmat incident was reported shortly before 8:00pm at TST Inc. in the 11600 block of S. Etiwanda Avenue. The casting plant has been evacuated and one person was transported for unknown reasons. A second person was treated for difficulty breathing. According to an employee, Hazmat teams were not allowing employees back into the plant after a tank holding chlorine gas leaked. It’s unclear what caused the leak or how much chlorine gas leaked out of the tank. As of 11:00pm the leak was mitigated and employees were allowed to return back to work.
