WHITTIER, CALIFORNIA – Just before 1:00 am a crash was reported on the 605 FWY near Beverly Blvd. CHP units arrived to find a single vehicle collision that went down an embankment and crashed into a tree. Four people were inside and one of the passengers was reported to be trapped. CHP officers acted quickly with fire extinguishers as they received word the vehicle was starting to catch on fire. The LACo FIRE units worked feverishly to free a pregnant victim from the passenger side of the SUV. After nearly 20 minutes they freed her from the wreckage. All occupants were transported to County USC for their injuries. The CHP is investigating.
