Hundreds of people gathered along Melrose Avenue near Fairfax for an impromptu memorial for the late rapper. XXXTentacion. The crowds began gathering just before 8:00 PM Tuesday night. The crowd began extremely large and as some were also unruly, forcing the LAPD to call it an unlawful assembly. Police began firing rubber bullets when the crowd began throwing glass bottles at officers, injuring one, according to scanner traffic. The crowds eventually dispersed after about two hours. A growing memorial for the rapper is under way. XXXTentacion was murdered during, what police say, was a robbery in another state.
