BREA, CALIFORNIA – La Habra Police Department executed a search warrant for possible drug activity in the 700 block of N. Sonora St in Brea. When police entered the home they found more than drugs inside. The detectives then called for the help of the OCSD Bomb Squad Unit to identify if their suspicion of explosive ordinances were correct. Once the bomb squad entered they confirmed there were live ordinances in the home, however did not specify as to the extent of the explosives. Police told neighbors to stay in their homes as they conducted the investigation. Sonora High School is less than 500 ft from the home in question but was not in session due to covid. The police have the area blocked off and plan to be there through the night. One suspect, a resident, was taken into custody who neighbors describe as being a latino male in his 30’s. No other info was available.
