MASTIC, NEW YORK On Monday May 17, 2021 at approximately 7:30pm A Suffolk County Police 7th Precinct officer was involved in a crash with a minivan in Mastic, New York. The accident happened in front of Aliyana’s Pizzeria at 520 Mastic Road. Additional officers responded to assist. The driver of the minivan appeared to be under the influence when officers began questioning him, The driver was given a field sobriety test, which he failed. Officers placed the man in custody after a failed breathalyzer test. The Suffolk PD Officer was not injured in the crash.
