SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (LLN) – On Wednesday night, December 23, 2020, the California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 5. The fatal incident was reported around 11:23pm on the northbound 5 at the American River Bridge. According to the California Highway Patrol, the female pedestrian was struck by a semi truck while she was walking on the freeway in foggy conditions. The female was pronounced deceased at the scene and the driver of the semi remained at the scene and was cooperating with the investigation.
