WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA – El Monte PD was in pursuit of a white Nissan for assault on a police officer in their city. The suspect continued on surface streets and at one point went the wrong way on Main Street in El Monte. The suspect also went the wrong way multiple times on the 210 fwy and on the 605 fwy. After about an hour and a half of the suspect circling the freeways, the suspect finally ran into an apartment complex off of E. Valley Blvd and North Nogales St. The air unit was able to see the suspect flee from the vehicle. El Monte PD K9 units responded to the scene to assist officers in the search for the suspect. The K9 unit was able to locate the suspect hiding underneath some bushes. He refused to come out and the dog was released. The suspect was bitten and could be seen crying about it. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for the dog bites.
