CORONA: Carjacking

Late Monday night December 03, 2018 the Corona Police Department responded to reports of a carjacking. The incident occurred around 11:15pm in the 1400 block of Vallejo Drive, in a usually quiet neighborhood, not far from Coronita Elementary School. Details surrounding the incident are limited as Police at the scene declined to comment. Sgt. Glenn with the Corona Police Department, was unable to comment citing the incident remains under investigation. However, he did say there was no threat to the public. According to a crime broadcast, at least one male and one female carjacked a gray Toyota Camery at a residence on Vallejo Drive. The Camery was located a few blocks away in the 1600 block of Brentwood Drive. Officers were at the scene swabbing the vehicle for DNA evidence. It’s unclear if the suspects were located inside the vehicle or if they had fled from the vehicle. No injuries were reported and it’s unclear if the owner of the Camery lived at the residence.
