CORONA: Candlelight Vigil For 2nd Anniversary of Route 91 Harvest Festival Shooting

On Tuesday evening, October 01, 2019, a couple hundred people gathered at Remembrance Field at Eagle Glen Park for the 2nd anniversary of the Route 91 Harvest Festival mass shooting. The candlelight vigil was held to remember the 58 lives that were tragically lost on October 01, 2017. Local country music station, K-FROG 95.1, provided candles as people gathered around a plaque, which was dedicated to all 58 victims, on September 30, 2018. The vigil was sponsored by the City of Corona and hosted by K-FROG. Many wore shirts and ribbons with “Country Strong.” A mosaic, “Angela’s Wings,” was also unveiled in downtown Riverside on September 28, 2019 in memory of victim Angela Gomez. A 2015 graduate of Riverside’s Poly High School, she was in her third year at Riverside City College and studying nursing when her life was tragically cut short at the Route 91 Harvest Festival.
