Cedar Rapids, Iowa. (LOUDLABS CR) – On Friday, August 17th, 2018 at approximately 3:00 PM, Cedar Rapids Fire Department was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire on Hollywood Boulevard NE near Council Street NE and 42nd Street NE. Arriving units made a fast attack on heavy flames at the rear of the house and protected nearby exposures. Two firefighters were transported to the hospital; one after being electrocuted and one with difficulty breathing. The homeowners were away at the time of the fire, and one pet died in the fire. This is the third fire in the area in the past 24 hours. The fire is under investigation.
