IOWA CITY, IOWA (LoudLabs CR) – On Saturday, August 18th, 2018 at 9:30 PM, Iowa City Fire Department, Iowa City Police Department, and Johnson County Ambulance Service were dispatched to a reported person in the Iowa River in the area of Burlington Street and Riverside Drive. An interview with a JCSO deputy revealed the subject was a patient at the nearby VA hospital and left the facility and walked into the Iowa River. ICFD currently has a boat in the water and is attempting to bring the subject to safety.
