CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA (LoudLabs CR) – On Monday, October 22nd, at approximately 3:00 PM, Cedar Rapids Fire Department units were dispatched to a reported apartment fire at 4333 1st Avenue. Firefighters arrived to find heavy flames and smoke and quickly initiated a quick attack on the fire, knocking it down in the interior while additional crews attacked the flames from outside. There was heavy heat, smoke, and water damage to the building, but no injuries were reported. CRFD reports the initial response was delayed due to the nearest fire units being tied up at a gas line struck
