Brush Fire With Structure Threat | PERRIS CA 9.29.20


PERRIS, CALIFORNIA – On Monday afternoon September 29th at approximately 1:32 pm Cal Fire Riverside was dispatched to the area of Gavilan Road and Lake Mathews drive for a brush fire. Upon arrival fire crews noticed a brush fire in the hills with heavy smoke. At this time Cal Fire Riverside called in for air support. Several water dropping helicopters along with fix winged air tankers arrived on scene to fight the fire. Firefighters and inmate hand crews had to hike up the mountain to fight the fire. Several structures and out buildings were threatened. One inmate firefighter sustained a minor injury, He was checked out on scene, His fire crew camp will be transporting him back to base for further medical attention.
