PERRIS – At approximately 3:55 pm CalFire Riverside along with Riverside County Sheriffs Perris Station, responded to the area of the Northbound 215 at Nuevo Road in the city of Perris in reference to a brush fire in a large field next to the freeway.
Traffic on the freeway was briefly impacted as the flames and smoke were rather close to the freeway. Placenta St was briefly closed as the fire came up to the road.
Firefighters made great work of the fire. No homes were in the area and no injuries to any firefighters.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
