BROOKLYN: Fatal Motorcycle Crash

10.9.19 | Video by Adam Balhetchet | CYPRESS HILLS, Brooklyn (DCPI) – On Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at approximately 2347 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision involving a motorcyclist along Highland Boulevard at Vermont Street, within the confines of the 75 Precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed a 38-year-old male, unconscious and unresponsive, with trauma about the body. EMS responded to the location and transported the aided male to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Further investigation by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad determined the motorcyclist, operating a 2004 Suzuki GSXR 600 motorcycle, was traveling eastbound on Highland Boulevard at Vermont Street, when he failed to properly navigate the curve in the roadway and struck the concrete barrier wall which separates the roadway from the sidewalk. The motorcycle operator was ejected from the vehicle and subsequently struck his head against an overhead street light pole, before coming to a rest. The investigation remains ongoing.
