EDGEWATER PARK, Bronx – One person is injured in a fire that damaged two homes. It happened at 45 Edgewater Park at 10 pm Friday, within the confines of the 45th Precinct. Edgewater Volunteer Fire Department was first on scene with Engine 3, a small fire engine that is small enough to squeeze through the streets of Edgewater Park. FDNY engine 72 arrived next. Since the FDNY engine was too wide to fit, they had to stretch their lines much farther than usual. A 10-70 was transmitted for not having a water source. At 11:35 pm the fire was placed under control. One resident was injured, possibly smoke inhalation, and was rushed to an area hospital.
