LAPD officers are now investigating this incident as an altercation between at least two people that led to a shooting with at least five shots from a handgun. It isn’t believed that anyone was hit by gunfire , but appears that the driver of a small SUV may have attempted to chase down the victim in an attempt to run him over. In doing so the vehicle became stuck in the open trench while trapping the male victim. The occupant of the vehicle fled the scene in another car as firefighters were arriving.
A man was severely injured after being hit by a car and forced down a ditch. Firefighters responded and lifted the vehicle up slightly with a heavy rescue crane, freeing the man. He was transported to the hospital in unknown condition. A shooting took place only a few yards away at the same time. Multiple casings were seen on the sidewalk and grass. It is unknown whether the two are related. LAPD are investigating both.
