On Wednesday afternoon, May 22, 2019, another Spring storm brought more snow to the San Bernardino mountains. While this storm didn’t bring as much snow as predicted, it did bring enough to make mountain roads slick as well as reduced visibility. Around 2:30pm snow fell the heaviest along Highway 18 between Snow Valley and Big Bear Lake. According to the CalTrans website, chains are required on all non 4-wheel drive vehicles on Highway 18 between Snow Valley and the Big Bear Dam. No chain restrictions were in place on Highway 330 or Highway 38 as of 7:30pm.
