A possible distracted driver slammed into the rear end of a partially loaded school bus Friday afternoon in Apple Valley. The collision occurred around 4:00 PM in the 21400 block of Zuni Road. The Apple Valley Unified School District bus was in the middle of its regular after school drop off route when the accident occurred. The male driver of the full size pick up truck was transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries. No children appeared to have been injured. A witness (off camera) stated that the driver of the truck didn’t see the school bus and appeared to slam into the bus at full speed. No skid marks were seen. Another nearby resident (SOT in file) stated they heard the crash and came out to help. CHP Victorville is handling the investigation.
