5 Killed Including Infant In Horrific Crash | FRENCH CAMP, CA 3.11.21

FRENCH CAMP, CALIFORNIA (LLN) – On Thursday night, March 11, 2021 the California Highway Patrol, San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department and the City of Lathrop Fire Department responded to reports of a solo vehicle into a tree. The crash was reported around 11:00pm in the 10500 block of S. Harlan Road, to the front of Granite Construction. The first arriving engine company reported a solo vehicle, which appeared to have come off the northbound 5 Freeway, into a tree with several people trapped. Three occupants were declared deceased at the scene. A female and an infant were transported to an area hospital in unknown condition. According to California Highway Patrol incident log # 00374, the vehicle struck a green freeway sign, traveled down an embankment, crashed through a chain link fence before slamming into a tree. S. Harlan Road is closed in both directions at Granite Construction and is expected to remain closed for several hours while officers conduct their investigation. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
