2.16.21 | Video by Gabriel | BRONX, Bronx (DCPI) – On Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at approximately 2048 hours, police responded to a 911 call of multiple people shot at the intersection of East Mount Eden Avenue and Jerome Avenue, within the confines of 44 Precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed a total of three individuals shot. Victim #1, a 33-year-old male, was shot in the head and was removed by responding EMS to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced deceased. Victim #2, a 35-year-old male, was shot in the chest and was removed to NYC Health & Hospitals/Lincoln in critical but stable condition. A preliminary investigation determined that a 45-year-old male approached the two males and discharged a firearm multiple times, striking the two victims. During a struggle with the 35-year-old victim, the 45-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to the head, and was removed to NYC Health & Hospitals/Lincoln, via EMS, where he remains in critical condition and in police custody, with charges pending. The investigation remains ongoing.
