2nd Shooting Scene Investigation | DURHAM, NC 4.4.21

DURHAM, NORTH CAROLINA – Durham Police responded to a reported shooting at the intersection of Angier Avenue & South Alston Avenue. An adult male was found suffering from a gunshot wound inside a vehicle that had crashed. The victim was transported to a hospital with life threatening injuries. Durham officers told us the shooting started at the Family Fare & Gas Station located at 308 South Alston Avenue. It appears the victim tried to escape/drive off after being shot. The victim’s vehicle appeared to have traveled northbound on South Alston Avenue before it crashed into a utility box at the intersection of Angier Avenue near the Greater Bethlehem Template Apostolic Church. Durham Police shutdown South Alston Avenue from the Durham freeway entrance ramp northbound to East Main Street. Officers and Detectives could be seen canvasing the parking lot of Family Fare searching for evidence. This shooting is the 2nd shooting the happened within the same vicinity within a few hours. At 8:37pm on Saturday April 3, 2021 Durham Police were investigating a shooting in the area of Dale St & Elm St. (Which is only a few streets over from the Angier Ave Shooting).
