VENTURA – Fire crews responded to a brush fire in the canyon of Elizabeth Rd just North of Foothill Rd in the city of Ventura, CA. Responding units reported smoke showing from a few miles out. The fire was quickly upgraded to a 2nd alarm bringing crews together from Ventura City, Ventura County, Oxnard City and Cal Fire to help fight the fire. Helicopters from Ventura County LA County and USFS dropped water on flames with 4 air tankers ordered for retardant drops.
