100 Foot Geyser Caused by H&R | FONTANA, CA 11.24.20

FONTANA, CALIFORNIA – On Tuesday morning, November 24, 2020 the Fontana Police Department responded to reports of a hit and run driver vs a fire hydrant. The incident was reported around 2:23am on Cherry Avenue just north of Bridlepath Drive. The sheared hydrant sent a geyser of water shooting over 100 feet into the air. The driver also managed to take out a speed limit sign. Unconfirmed reports that officers were able to locate the vehicle which struck the hydrant nearby. Crews were able to get the hydrant shut down shortly after 3:30am.
